Telehealth
Jennifer Yates provides online therapy to eligible clients located in California.
For telehealth appointments, you must generally be physically located in a jurisdiction where Jennifer is legally permitted to provide therapy at the time of the session. Your physical location may therefore be confirmed as part of telehealth services.
Telehealth offers convenience and flexibility, but it can also involve limitations or risks, including technology interruptions and privacy considerations. More detailed information regarding telehealth, confidentiality, communication, emergencies, and informed consent will be provided as part of the intake process.
Good Faith Estimate + No Surprises Act
Your Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate
Under federal law, healthcare providers are generally required to provide patients who do not have insurance, or who are not using insurance to pay for their care, with an estimate of the expected charges for scheduled healthcare services.
If this applies to you, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your healthcare services are expected to cost.
You may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling a service or at any time during treatment.
A Good Faith Estimate is an estimate rather than a guarantee of the exact length, frequency, or total cost of therapy. The course of psychotherapy can vary based on your individual needs, preferences, goals, and circumstances.
Your estimate may be updated if your treatment needs or anticipated services change.
If Your Bill Is Substantially Higher Than Your Estimate
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than the amount listed on your Good Faith Estimate for a provider or facility, you may have the right to dispute the bill through the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
Keep a copy or photograph of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
More information about your rights under the No Surprises Act and the Good Faith Estimate process is available through the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
